The father of Sri Lankan cricket player Dunith Wellalage, Suranga Wellalage, passed away in Colombo, allegedly due to a heart attack.
Currently, 22-year-old Dunith Wellalage plays for Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He is regarded as one of the most talented young cricket players in the country.
Wellalage participated in Sri Lanka’s Asia Cup match versus Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi earlier today. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi blasted him for five straight sixes in the last over.
