The build-up to the much awaited world heavyweight bout took a bad turn on Monday in Riyadh, where rival camps had to be kept apart by security while media activities were taking place in a hotel.
After this fight on Saturday, there will be a new heavyweight champion for the first time since Lennox Lewis in 2000—the first in the four-belt era.
In 1999, Lewis, the WBC champion, defeated Evander Holyfield to win the WBA and IBF championships.
“I can’t wait,” yelled fury.
“It’s unbelievable to be out here,” he continued. Everyone feels euphoric. Saudi Arabian professional boxing is excellent.
This week will be enjoyable for me as it has been long overdue. Thus, we will relish it. I’m so excited and feel like I’m on top of the world.
