On the last day of the European Track Cycling Championships, Josie Knight took home the gold medal, leading Great Britain to the top of the medal standings.
Franziska Brausse of Germany lost to Knight in the women’s individual pursuit by a mere three thousandths of a second.
In the same competition, Emma Finucane won silver in the women’s keirin, while Anna Morris brought home bronze.
In Apeldoorn, Britain ends with their best-ever haul of medals in a European Championship: six golds and fourteen medals overall.
With five circuits remaining, Knight, who was behind Brausse by almost a second, declared, “I’m over the moon, to be honest.”
“That’s incredibly important since I’ve always wanted to win an individual international championship title in addition to winning my first gold medal at the championships.
