Pakistan applauded US President Donald Trump’s suggestion at the UN Security Council to work with eight OIC and Arab states to develop a peace plan for Gaza and the larger Middle East.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, assured the Council members that Islamabad would actively engage in the consultation process in order to promote a long-term solution.
Speaking during a briefing on the Middle East, which included the Question of Palestine (SCR 2334), Ahmad stated, “We appreciate President Donald Trump’s initiative, working with eight OIC and Arab countries to advance peace through concrete measures.”
“Pakistan will actively participate in this consultative process and contribute positively to the advancement of consensus,” Ahmad stated.
