ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan’s bail request in a case involving terror funding was granted on Tuesday by an anti-terrorism court in the nation’s capital.
The PTI politician’s bail request was granted by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra in opposition to surety bonds totaling Rs200,000.
Given the admission made by co-accused PTI International Media Coordinator Ahmed Waqas Janjua regarding his purported involvement in giving money to terrorists, Hasan was implicated in the case.
On August 3, the court rejected Janjua’s bail request.
Meanwhile, a court judgment in the aforementioned case on Saturday placed the PTI secretary general on a 14-day judicial remand at the Adiala Jail.
The politician and others were arrested by the Islamabad Police on July 22.
Although Janjua’s allegation, which said he handed him Rs. 300,000 to promote terror, was the reason for Hasan’s arrest on July 31 even though he was not initially mentioned in the terrorism FIR.
