RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, was cleared on Tuesday by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on 12 offenses pertaining to the riots of May 9, 2023.
ATC Judge Malik Ejaz Asif held the hearing in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail in a temporary court. Investigation officials for the instances from May 9 attended the hearing as well.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s wife was represented by attorney Malik Faisal and her counsel Salman Safdar at the beginning of the hearing, while defense attorneys argued for Bushra’s physical remand.
