Two defendants, Hassan Shah and Rafiq alias Fiqi, were placed in jail on a 14-day judicial detention by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore in relation to the playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s honey trap case.
The investigating officer asked for judicial remand for the suspects and notified the court that the investigation was concluded. Under the direction of Duty Judge Irfan Haider, the court approved the request.
The accused’ physical remand ended, and they were brought before the judge. No additional physical remand was requested by the police.
According to the investigation, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was abducted by the suspects and Amina Arooj, who then demanded a ransom of one crore rupees. Hassan Shah had been notified by Amina Arooj that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was being blackmailed.
