Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s request to halt court proceedings in the May 9 case concerning the attack on General Headquarters (GHQ) was denied by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard two petitions from Khan today, asking the court to release the CCTV footage of the September 19 court sessions and to halt the proceedings until the high court issues an order transferring the jail trial.
Faisal Malik, the lawyer for the PTI founder, argued during the hearing that they did not want to be involved in the case procedures without first consulting the former prime minister. Khan was presented virtually before the court via a WhatsApp link.
