RAWALPINDI: On Friday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi rejected a petition to allow Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to personally appear in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case pertaining to the violent protests on May 9.
PTI’s request for Khan to appear in person was denied by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, who heard the case at ATC Rawalpindi.
The judge said, “The PTI founding chairman will only appear via video link, per the Punjab government notification.”
