ISLAMABAD: Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had arrest warrants revoked by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the nation’s capital, which was related to violent protests and Section 144 violations.
Gandapur had petitioned the I-9 Police Station in the nation’s capital to have the arrest warrant in the case against him suspended.
The KP CM turned himself in to the court, claiming he had prior commitments that prevented him from attending the proceedings.
Gandapur and other PTI leaders were served non-bailable arrest warrants by the court on July 2, with a warning that they would be labeled proclaimed offenders if they did not appear in court.Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, however, deemed the explanation to be erroneous. Then, Gandapur’s attorney asked the court for another chance, promising that his client would show up for the subsequent session.
