Agreement Reached
French IT company Atos said Friday that it signed a binding agreement to sell its Latin American business to Brazilian tech firm Semantix. The deal is part of Atos’ broader restructuring plan.
Regional Operations
The business employs around 2,800 people across Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay. Atos did not disclose the financial details but expects the sale to close in the coming months.
Restructuring and Debt Reduction
Earlier this year, Atos completed a major financial restructuring after facing serious financial troubles in 2024. The company reduced 2.1 billion euros in debt, leaving banks and bondholders as its main shareholders.
Focus on Asset Sales
As part of its turnaround, Atos is focusing on selling non-core assets like its Latin American operations. The company aims to strengthen its balance sheet and concentrate on its core business areas.
