ISLAMABAD: In a significant move, Pakistan on Sunday demanded that the TTP militants, who are now banned, be turned over to Islamabad by the interim Taliban administration in Afghanistan. The terrorists were implicated in the Besham terror assault on Chinese people.
“Whether Afghanistan tries the terrorists [in the court of law] or not, it should hand over the militants to Pakistan,” Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi declared during a joint news conference surrounded by representatives of the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (Necta).
In March of this year, a suicide bomber struck a bus carrying employees of the Dasu hydropower plant in Bisham, Shangla district, killing at least six persons, five of them were Chinese nationals.
