Azma Bokhari, the Punjab Information Minister, attacked the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Wednesday, claiming that the female-led party is now disparaging women.
Bokhari responded to a press conference given by PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira by saying that the PPP seemed to be competing with him in having press conferences. She questioned the party’s assertion that the problem of flood victims in Punjab was not being politicized.
Such personal attacks, according to Bokhari, elicit similar responses. She stated that rather than questioning the popularity and direction of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the PPP need to concentrate more on its own issues.
The Punjab information minister went on to say that the PPP was allowed to utilize Sindh’s Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) without restriction.
