The legendary saga of Baahubali is far from over. The makers have unveiled a teaser for Baahubali: The Eternal War, an upcoming 3D animated film that continues the story in a whole new dimension.
Directed by Ishan Shukla, known for his work on Star Wars: Visions and The Bandits of Golak, the film explores the aftermath of Amarendra Baahubali’s death. According to the teaser, “Amarendra Baahubali’s death wasn’t his end; it was the beginning of something eternal.”
While fans have speculated about a third live-action installment, Baahubali creator SS Rajamouli clarified that the project is purely animated. “This is a continuation of the Baahubali world. We previously released a 2D animated show on Amazon, and now we’re bringing the story to 3D,” he explained.
Rajamouli praised producer Shobu for pushing the franchise forward. “Shobu collaborated with the talented Ishan Shukla to create a fresh narrative using the same beloved characters, but taking the story in a new direction. I really liked the idea,” he added.
The project has been in development for over two and a half years, with a reported budget of ₹120 crore. Baahubali: The Eternal War is slated to hit theaters in 2027, promising fans an epic continuation of the iconic universe.
