Bafta will announce its nominations for 2026, which are likely to include actors such as Timothee Chalamet and Emma Stone. Jessie Buckley and Jacob Elordi may also be included. Bafta, the major award organization that follows the Oscars in revealing its shortlists for this season is set to announce their nominations 2026. This year's nominations are likely to be led by Hamnet Sinners and A Battle After Another. Due to rules on eligibility, some films will be excluded, such as the Netflix smash KPop Demon Hunters. Bafta offers more flexibility in terms of nominations than Oscars. It allows six slots instead of five for each category, while also recognizing British talent. Alan Cumming, the host of Sunday's ceremony in London will be Alan Cumming. The Frontrunners' Stories Take a look at some of the movies that may dominate this year’s Bafta nominees. A Battle After Another : An ex-revolutionary reunites old friends to save his daughter from an anti-white supremacist movement. Hamnet : This film, based on Maggie O'Farrell's book, explores the possibility that a tragic family event inspired Shakespeare to pen one of his best-known plays. Sinners is a mix of horror, blues and vampires. It follows two twins who are trying to start a live music venue in Mississippi during the 1930s before evil forces interfere. Marty Supreme : The story of a table-tennis champion in New York, 1950s. He pursues his dreams while managing the financial challenges. Bugonia Two cousins kidnap the CEO of a pharmaceutical company to blame them for the death of a family member. Frankenstein : This is a modern version of Mary Shelley’s tale about a professor who creates a monster from the parts of human bodies. Sentimental value Two sisters, who lost their mother, reconnect with their estranged filmmaker father. For Good tells the story of Elphaba & Glinda prior to the events of 1939 Wizard of Oz. British Talent in the Spotlight Bafta is a great place to see British and Irish actors that may not be featured elsewhere during the award season. Some notable films are I Swear about a man who has Tourette syndrome in Scotland during the 1980s, and The Ballad of Wallis Island a story of a lucky lottery winner. Other British contenders are Pillion a tale of two men involved in a BDSM, and H is for Hawk a movie about a grieving woman who trains a goshawk. The following are potential acting nominees for the UK and Ireland: Cillian Murphy (Steve) Carey Mulligan - The Ballad of Wallis Island Harry Melling ( pillion ) Emily Watson ( Hamnet ) Robert Aramayo and Pete Mullan (I Swear) Andrea Riseborough ( Dragonfly ) and Brenda Blethyn Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo - Sinners Surprises and Snubs Although they have films this year, some big names such as Julia Roberts and George Clooney didn't even make it to the Bafta shortlist. Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters is not eligible for the Bafta awards, despite being a front-runner at Oscars in both animated film and song categories. Bafta is an Oscar indicator Oscar winners are often predicted by Bafta award winners. Thirteen Bafta winners of best actor and ten best actress won Oscars in the past 15 years. Bafta awards can provide insight as to how Academy voters may decide, even if other awards are different.

Previous Article Pop superstar Harry Styles is helping struggling music venues across the UK. For his 2026 Together Together tour, he will donate £1 from every ticket sold to small venues, aiming to raise approximately £780,000 for the LIVE Trust. Tour Details and High Demand The tour includes seven cities, with six nights at London’s Wembley Stadium. Following huge demand, Styles added two extra shows. Fans are eagerly queuing for pre-sale tickets, which range from £44.10 to £466.25, with a £2.95 handling fee per order. This pricing is higher than his 2023 Wembley shows, reflecting the rising cost of stadium events. In New York, Styles will perform 30 nights at Madison Square Garden. Despite ticket prices, the tour remains one of the most anticipated music events of the year. His shows coincide with the release of his fourth album, Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, on 6 March. Supporting Grassroots Music Styles is following in the footsteps of artists like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, and Radiohead, who have also contributed to small music venues. The LIVE Trust works to protect grassroots venues that are struggling financially. Recent reports show that over half of UK small venues fail to make a profit, and since 2023, more than 150 have permanently closed. "I wouldn’t be where I am today without the gigs I played around the North East and beyond when I was starting out," Styles said. "These venues are legendary, but they are struggling." The Music Venue Trust praised Styles’ contribution, noting that even a £1 levy per ticket can provide long-term support for the live music ecosystem. Culture Minister Ian Murray has expressed support for the initiative, aiming for at least 50% of stadium and arena tickets in 2026 to adopt a similar levy. Levy Impact and Future Plans Although no funds have been distributed yet, the first phase of funding will soon be announced. Beneficiaries will include venues, artists, and independent promoters. Last year, 8.8% of tickets for UK arena and stadium shows included a version of this "grassroots levy," which continues to grow in popularity. Styles’ Upcoming Highlights Alongside his tour, Styles will present at the Grammy Awards this weekend in Los Angeles. He won Album of the Year at the 2023 ceremony for his third record, Harry’s House. Fans have expressed mixed reactions to ticket prices, with some noting that top-tier seats now cost £140 more than last time. Despite this, the focus remains on Styles’ efforts to give back to the music community that supported his early career. Harry Styles Supports Small Music Venues with UK Tour Donation
