As the first female Deputy Commissioner in Balochistan’s history, Ayesha Zehri will oversee the Awaran district. An important first for women in key positions in the province’s administration is this appointment.
Known for its significance in agriculture, Awaran has experienced significant terrorism-related damage in Balochistan. Zehri has stated that she is dedicated to stopping terrorism and enhancing regional security. By actively taking part in operations against militants of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), she has already proven her determination.
Apart from security concerns, Zehri has made it a priority to tackle the problems encountered by the people living in undeveloped regions of Awaran. In compliance with the directions of the Chief Minister, she has effectively held public hearings in open courts across the district’s tehsils.
