ISLAMABAD: On Friday, Mohsin Naqvi, the Minister of Interior, said that the horrifying assaults in Balochistan, which claimed the lives of several people, including security officials, were a “plot to subvert” the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, which Pakistan will host the next month.
Terrorists linked to the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked civilians, law enforcement, and security forces on August 26, resulting in approximately 50 fatalities, including 14 security personnel.
In one of the deadliest attacks, in the Rarasham district of Musakhel, Balochistan, at least 23 passengers died after being offloaded from passenger buses and lorries.
Separately, a gun attack in Kalat claimed the lives of at least ten persons, including Levies and police officials.
