On Friday, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) declared a bank holiday for tomorrow (March 23), Pakistan Day.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on March 23, 2024 (Saturday) being public holiday on the occasion of ‘Pakistan Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the announcement for the holiday read.
According to the statement, banks across the country will be closed tomorrow.
Pakistan Day is observed annually on March 23 to commemorate the adoption of the Lahore Resolution on the same day in 1947, which called for the establishment of an independent sovereign state for the subcontinent’s Muslims.
The historic event took place at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, marking a key step toward the establishment of an independent country.
