Gohar Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Isnaf (PTI), stated that no other party is entitled to the Sunni Ittehad Council’s reserved seats.

“Every ruling of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) did not defend our constitutional rights. “There will be no session until the reserved seat decision is made,” he asserted.

PTI chairman Gohar Khan claimed that the Punjab Assembly session was held ‘illegally’, and that the National Assembly session, slated for February 29, will likewise be held illegally.

“The meeting must be convened after notification of all the members as SIC submitted four applications to the ECP,” he told reporters.

The PTI chairman stated that 60 women and 10 minority seats are reserved in the National Assembly.

Gohar Khan stated: “The PTI was called via conspiracy tactics. The election was contested by PTI candidates using independent emblems. 86 of our MNAs have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council. In Punjab, 107 MPs joined the SIC. In KP, nine MPs joined the SIC. Nine Sindh Assembly MPs have joined the SIC.

Sahibzada Hamid Raza refers to government parties as ‘Thugs of Banaras’

According to Sahibzada Hamid Raza, supremo of the Sunni Ittehad Council, Barrister Gohar presented all of his reasons before the ECP in a legitimate manner.

“SIC application was submitted six days ago for reserved seats but today’s date hearing was fixed on the six petitions filed overnight.”

The SIC supremo stated, “Thugs from Banaras came today to get their share (of the reserved seats).”
