Many cities in Sindh, including Karachi, are anticipated to get severe rains beginning Thursday. While some sections of the country are expected to have significant snowfall and windstorms beginning tomorrow (Thursday) and lasting until March 2, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts Tuesday.
The Met Office issued a weather advisory stating that heavy rain and snowfall might cause flash floods and disrupt daily life in vulnerable regions.
A strong westerly wave is expected to enter western sections on February 29 and sweep across the country on March 1, according to the weather department, with the wave potentially lasting two days.
In Sindh, heavy rain, wind, and thunderstorms are forecast in Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu.
The weather system impacted Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta, and other cities on February 29 and March 1, respectively. The PMD also predicts that there will be isolated hailstorms during the period.
On February 29 and March 1, the meteorological department predicts widespread heavy rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, and other districts of Balochistan.
From February 29 to March 3, heavy to extremely heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Peshawar, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, and other places.
Various sections of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir are also likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy widespread rain, as well as windstorms and snowfall during this time.
