Israel is starting to irritate Joe Biden.
Unnamed sources in the US media have been stating this to media outlets, as the president is widely criticized for his backing of Israel’s attack in Gaza.
However, The Washington Post reported on Sunday that Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are getting closer to “a breach” as Israel continues its military campaign. Furthermore, NBC News revealed on Monday morning that he has been criticizing the extreme-right Israeli leader more and more, even going so far as to call him an a**hole on a few occasions.
Analysts claim that despite Biden’s purported frustrations, his remarks made in private won’t have much of an impact if he doesn’t put pressure on Israel to halt its lethal military incursion in Gaza.
“Anyone with even the slightest sense of conscience ought to be frustrated and incensed at Israel’s war. However, Imad Harb, the director of research and analysis at the Arab Center Washington, DC, stated that in Biden’s case, it has not yet compelled him to make the fatally important appeal for a ceasefire that can save Palestinian lives.
In an email to Al Jazeera, he said, “Unfortunately, even though the United States has many tools of pressure that it can use to change Israel’s policies and behavior, Israel is in the driver’s seat.”

The UN and human rights organizations have expressed concern about an anticipated Israeli ground offensive on Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, coinciding with rumors of Biden’s mounting dissatisfaction with Netanyahu.
