The Punjab Assembly’s standing committee has been asked to consider the Punjab Partition of Movable Property Amendment Bill 2025.
Redefining the jurisdiction of property division proceedings, particularly those containing a combination of built-up and agricultural land, is the goal of the amendment.
Important aspects of the amendment bill
According to the amended bill, property disputes involving built-up areas that surpass agricultural land would be heard and decided by civil courts.
As stated in the bill’s text:
Cases involving residential or commercial built-up areas will be heard in civil courts.
In legal procedures, the term “degree” has been replaced with “preliminary degree.”
