Blackmore sustained an injury at Downpatrick on Friday, becoming the first female rider to win the Grand National.
Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board spokesman Niall Cronin stated, “Rachael Blackmore has suffered a neck injury and will not ride in the coming weeks, while she undergoes rehabilitation for her injury.”
No precise diagnosis or estimated time of return has been provided.
During a handicap chase, the 35-year-old sustained injuries while splitting ways with her Denis Howard-trained horse, Hand Over Fist.
Blackmore’s victory in the National at Aintree aboard the Minella Times earned him the title of Sports Personality’s World Sport Star of the Year for 2021.
Additionally, she was the first female lead jockey at the Cheltenham Festival, where she and A Plus Tard won the Gold Cup the following year.
Prior to her accident, Blackmore was tied for first place in the Irish jump jockeys’ championship with 23 other victors, including Keith Donoghue and Sam Ewing.
