During ongoing flood rescue efforts, South Punjab is experiencing a wave of catastrophic boat capsizing accidents that have left about 30 persons dead and numerous more missing. The elderly, women, and children make up the majority of casualties.
Increase of mishaps while rescue operations are underway
There have been roughly ten cases of boats overturning in flood-affected districts, including Jalalpur Pirwala, Liaquatpur, Minchinabad, Alipur, and Uch Sharif. Rescue crews said that these catastrophes happened while they were trying to evacuate thousands of people who were stuck by the rising waters.
Over eight people are still unaccounted for, and over 30 people have died thus far. Searches are being conducted to find them.
