According to Mr. Musk, users will need to “click on post details” in order to view anything bolded.
Additionally, he declared that timelines will no longer include italics or “any other formatting” since they were “being abused for engagement farming”.
The statement was favorably received by Mr. Musk’s fan base, as evidenced by one person who commented, “Happy to hear this. The chronology was being seriously distorted.”
Mr. Musk has been pursuing engagement farmers for some months.

When it was discovered that accounts on X were engaging in engagement farming, the owner of X promised to “suspend” them and “trace to source” them, but he didn’t specify how.
Since April 2023, when bold and other text formatting choices were introduced, users have utilized them to draw even more attention in an attempt to increase the amount of money they get from people clicking on their posts.
