Bollywood legend Dharmendra Kewal Krishna Deol, celebrated as one of the most handsome and successful actors in Indian cinema, has passed away at the age of 89. The veteran star, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month due to breathing complications, could not recover and died on Monday morning.
His demise marks the end of an era in Indian cinema, with fans and celebrities across the globe paying heartfelt tributes to his extraordinary legacy.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan expressed his grief on social media, calling Dharmendra a “father figure” and an “irreplaceable loss” to cinema and film enthusiasts worldwide. He added that Dharmendra’s soul will live forever through his iconic films and loving family.
Dharmendra’s illustrious career spanned over six decades, delivering memorable performances in timeless classics such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Phool Aur Patthar.
On the personal front, Dharmendra remained committed to his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their children Sunny, Bobby, Ajeita, and Vijeita Deol. Later, he married Hema Malini, with whom he had two daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol, completing his remarkable family legacy.
