The 35-year-old Barbados native is well-known for smashing four straight sixes off Ben Stokes in the last over of the game to lead the West Indies past England in the T20 World Cup final in 2016.
Brathwaite, who joined the Somerset club last week, immediately made an impression with the bat, smashing 48 runs in Sunday’s National Club Championship victory over Midsomer Norton, including six sixes.
The good news is that you can always return to Earth, no matter how high you play cricket.
The nice thing is that cricket can swiftly bring you back to earth from any height, so Brathwaite told Radio Somerset, “I never go to a ground thinking I’m better than the players in my team or the opposition.”
It’s a terrific leveler since all it takes is one ball to get you out and banged around the park.
