Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s wedding took an unexpected turn when a dance with his mother Victoria Beckham became the center of attention. The groom described the moment as “awkward” after his first dance with wife Nicola Peltz was interrupted.
DJ Fat Tony, whose real name is Tony Marnoch, gave his version of events to ITV’s This Morning. He described the scene as “really awkward for everyone in the room.” He clarified that there was no extreme or provocative dancing, no PVC catsuits, and no Spice Girl-style moves.
Pop star Marc Anthony performed at the wedding reception and unexpectedly called Brooklyn to the stage. According to Marnoch, Anthony asked for “the most beautiful woman in the room” to dance with Brooklyn, but mistakenly said Victoria’s name instead of Nicola’s.
Nicola leaves crying her eyes out, and then they do this Latin-style dance. It was very awkward for everyone.”
However, other reports suggest the first dance may have already taken place between Brooklyn and Nicola before Marc Anthony’s performance. British Vogue reported that Brooklyn himself invited his mother onto the stage for a dance, while Anthony appeared around 11 pm.
Marnoch, who has DJ’d many Beckham parties, described the family as “close-knit” and fond of dancing. He emphasized that whether the dance was inappropriate is subjective and depends on Brooklyn’s feelings.
The next morning’s brunch reportedly became even more uncomfortable, with guests discussing the wedding drama. Marnoch also highlighted that Brooklyn’s Instagram post was more about expressing personal frustrations than the dance itself. He said, “This is about a son feeling lost in his family, not just about a single dance.”
Brooklyn’s post also mentioned issues with his family prioritizing the “brand Beckham” and other wedding-related disputes. The social media claim sparked widespread memes and mock-ups about Victoria’s dance, which dominated online conversations.
Despite the public attention, Sir David and Lady Beckham have not responded directly to Brooklyn’s claims.
