Bulgari has announced that Laura Burdese will become the brand’s new CEO, effective July 1, 2026. She will succeed Jean-Christophe Babin and report to Stéphane Bianchi, LVMH group managing director and CEO of LVMH Watches and Jewellery. As a result, the brand ensures a smooth leadership transition while maintaining its global growth momentum.
Smooth Leadership Transition
Bianchi praised the change, noting that Burdese has worked closely with Babin for the past three years to elevate Bulgari’s status in the luxury jewellery world. Moreover, he highlighted that her appointment is a tribute to her strong contributions and achievements.
Burdese’s Journey at Bulgari and LVMH
Laura Burdese joined Bulgari in 2022 as chief marketing officer after a decade-long career at LVMH. During that time, she led major initiatives to transform and position the brand. She became deputy CEO in July 2024.
Before Bulgari, she served as CEO of Acqua di Parma and held key roles at Beiersdorf, L’Oréal, and the Swatch Group, including CEO of Calvin Klein Watch & Jewelry Co. Ltd. Furthermore, her extensive experience in marketing and brand management has made her a strong fit for leading Bulgari into its next chapter.
Burdese holds a degree in International Economics from the University of Trieste and a Master’s in Marketing and Communication. With this background, she combines financial expertise with strategic marketing vision.
Babin’s Legacy
Jean-Christophe Babin is stepping down as Bulgari CEO after over 25 years with LVMH, first at TAG Heuer and then at Bulgari. Under his leadership, the brand strengthened its reputation as the quintessential Roman high jeweller. He also expanded Bulgari into luxury watches and hospitality.
In addition, Babin reinforced Italian craftsmanship through a new factory in Valenza and the launch of Scuola Bulgari. He will remain involved as chairman of the Bulgari Board, CEO of Bulgari Hotel Business Unit, and president of the Bulgari Foundation, continuing to report to Bianchi.
Looking Ahead
Burdese’s appointment signals a new chapter for Bulgari. Consequently, the brand ensures continuity in leadership while pushing forward its creative vision and global expansion. Overall, this move combines experience, innovation, and tradition, promising a bright future for the iconic jewellery maison.
