The Pakistani Supreme Court has commenced considering review appeals contesting the construal of Article 63-A.
The appeals are being heard by a larger bench of the Supreme Court consisting of five judges, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Justices Aminuddin Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mazhar Alam Miankhel are also on the bench.
Shahzad Shaukat, the President of the Supreme Court Bar, first appeared before the bench at the beginning of the hearing. The Chief Justice said he was done with his arguments already.
The court was supplied with the Registrar’s report concerning the detailed decision on Article 63-A, which stated that the detailed judgment had been rendered on October 14, 2022.
