Mr. Yulo’s accomplishments have also earned him the country’s most recent social media sensation.

On Sunday, Mr. Yulo earned an average of 15.116 in the vault, beating Armenia’s Artur Davtyan (14.966) and Britain’s Harry Hepworth (14.949).
When he learned his score, he punched his arms in the air and embraced his teammates. He informed reporters that he did not have big expectations for the competition.
“I was simply hoping to perform well. “I didn’t really expect a medal,” Mr. Yulo had stated.
“It felt like a bonus to me. It’s crazy, because I couldn’t sleep last night. I was extremely excited since I had won the gold medal the day before.
Just 24 hours previously, Mr. Yulo won gold in the men’s floor exercise with 15 points, beating out Artem Dolgopyat of Israel by only 0.034 points.
