Champion Hurdle won by State Man for Willie Mullins at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.

Riding Paul Townend, the 2-5 favorite performed even better than its year-end second place finish behind the reigning champion Constitution Hill.

Mullins, who already has 97 triumphs, would be the first individual to reach the century with Tuesday’s victory for Lossiemouth and Gaelic Warrior.

Irish Point came in second, followed by Luccia in third. State Man won.

Following a subpar workout last week, Constitution Hill was disqualified from the race by Nicky Henderson, who was saddled by Luccia.

After the race, Mullins was questioned about how he thought State Man would have performed if Constitution Hill had been able to participate.
