PESHAWAR: According to government sources, there are around 8,000 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or “Fitna al-Khawarij” militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is a concerning revelation.
According to the officials, the terrorists are in Peshawar, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Shangla, and merging districts. They entered the nation across the porous border from neighboring Afghanistan using obscure methods.
The officials claimed that the terrorists attack security troops and seek refuge among the common public, setting up checkpoints on the CPEC Road, DI Khan-Bannu Road, and in Tank.
The alarming disclosure comes as KP, which shares a border with Afghanistan, has been particularly hard hit by acts of terrorism, along with Balochistan.
