Chian, who strongly denounced the suicide attack on the Dasu Hydropower Project employees, called on Pakistan to “severely punish” those responsible for the terrorist act on Tuesday.

At least six persons, five of whom were Chinese nationals, were slain in Shangla’s Besham city when their vehicle was ambushed. The Chinese nationals’ car was struck by a suicide bomber who was carrying explosives in his vehicle, according to the deputy inspector general of police (DIG) of Malakand.

The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan released the following statement: “A terrorist incident occurred on March 26, at approximately 1pm local time, targeting a Chinese company’s bus carrying employees for the Dasu Hydropower Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Sadly, there were five Chinese and one Pakistani citizen that passed away.

The victims’ families were offered heartfelt condolences by the Pakistani embassy and consulates general, along with their sincere sympathies. It went on to say that they were working closely with the Pakistani side to manage the fallout.

Additionally, the embassy stated that it has immediately initiated an emergency plan and asked Pakistan to “thoroughly investigate the attack and severely punish the perpetrators.”

It further stated that all required steps were being taken to guarantee that similar situations would not occur in the future and to safeguard the safety of Chinese nationals, institutions, and projects in Pakistan.
