Regarding withholding tax on bank transactions, the Islamic Ideological Council (CII) has clarified that no final decision has been reached.
The council stressed that members had various views and that the issue had only been considered at an early stage.
An official notification states that during the most recent session, a number of council members expressed their opinions on the matter. The body emphasized that these conversations should not be interpreted as a definitive decision, nevertheless.
Before adopting a final position, the CII stated that it has instructed that pertinent Shariah and financial experts be contacted at the upcoming conference. Following the presentation of expert perspectives, a thorough evaluation will be conducted.
