ISLAMABAD Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif refuted media reports of a PML-N meeting in which President Nawaz Sharif ordered his party to hold talks with all political parties, including the PTI, in order to resolve the country’s current crisis. Nawaz did not even discuss politics at the meeting, much less offer an olive branch to the Imran Khan-founded party.
Speaking on Sunday on the Geo News program “Naya Pakistan,” the defense chief stated that neither Nawaz nor any such discussion or directions were made at the meeting.
“We concentrated on two topics only during the meeting, one on holding local bodies elections in Punjab and the other on bringing down electricity prices,” he stated.
