According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Thursday, US Central Command (Centcom) chief General Michael Erik Kurilla spoke with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) to discuss topics of mutual interest.
The military’s media wing also stated that topics of common interest, namely collaboration in concerns of regional security, were discussed at the meeting.
Additionally, it stated that both parties emphasized the necessity of improving training exchanges between Centcom and the Pakistan Army and talked about potential areas for cooperative training.
According to the ISPR, the visiting dignitary expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the area as well as for the Pakistan Army’s accomplishments in the war against terrorism.Along with these high-ranking US officials, the army chief’s visit included meetings with Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, Deputy National Security Adviser Jonathan Finer, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of Defense General (retd) Lloyd J. Austin, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Q. Brown.
