When Buffalo defender Damar Hamlin made his first career interception, his teammates surrounded him. Hamlin had suffered a heart collapse during a game in January of last year.
In the other game on Monday, the Washington Commanders defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 38-33 thanks to two touchdown throws from rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and a touchdown run of his own.
The Commanders won their second game of the season behind 21 of 23 throws for 254 yards from Daniels, the second overall selection in the 2024 draft.
Quarterback Joe Burrow of Cincinnati completed 29 of 38 throws for 324 yards and three touchdowns, with two of those passes going receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
