The amount owing by the actor, who plays Ken Barlow in the long-running soap, was not revealed at a hearing at the High Court in London on Monday.
However, the star’s lawyers requested a 12-week adjournment to allow for the sale of property.
The court also heard that the actor’s owing amount had been decreased because earlier payments had previously been made.
Stephen Baister, a retired Insolvency and Companies Court judge, approved the adjournment on Monday with no opposition from news attorneys.
