The promotion ceremony took place at the Pentagon on January 15 and was led by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, which Morgan called a “huge honor.”
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Morgan talked about what the promotion meant to him. He said the military teaches a balance of pride and humility, something he values deeply. For me, the Army shows honor and pride in a way you don’t see anywhere else.”He coordinated with his command and Secretary Hegseth to make the promotion official.
Morgan has a long military history. He first served 17 years with the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions as a staff sergeant and fire support specialist. He holds certifications in Airborne, air assault, and rappel master. After leaving the Army to focus on music, he reenlisted in 2023 at 59, continuing to juggle his music career with Army Reserve duties.
