The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police detained two suspected target killers who admitted to killing 13 people and injured 11 others. They were allegedly involved in sectarian target killings.
Waqar Abbas and Hussain Akbar, the suspects, were discovered to have ties to the outlawed group Zainabyun, according to DIG CTD Police Asif Ijaz Shaikh. Syed Hussain Mousavi, also known as Muslim, is said to have given his agents targets, money, and other resources from overseas.
The suspects were implicated in a string of target killings, which were first believed to be robbery-related crimes, according to the CTD investigation. Subsequent examination, however, showed that the majority of the victims were religious party employees.
13 persons, including Sher Muhammad, Qaiser Farqi, Adnan, Meraj, and Hamad Usama, were killed, according to the culprits’ confessions.
