After eight years, Daniel Day-Lewis returns to acting and denies ever retiring.
The three-time Oscar winner discussed his comeback to acting in an interview with Rolling Stone on Wednesday, discussing his role in his son Roman’s upcoming movie, Anemone.
It seems that I have now been accused of retiring twice. I had no intention of retiring from anything! Day-Lewis told the site, “I just wanted to work on something else for a while.”
It simply takes me longer and longer to find my way back to the location where the furnace is burning again as I get older, he remarked. Working with Ro, however, simply ignited that furnace. And spending that time with him was nothing but pure bliss from start to finish.
