Jose Mourinho’s replacement, De Rossi, 40, was named in January and given a contract that would expire at the end of 2023–2024.
Under De Rossi, Roma has gone from being ranked ninth to fifth in Serie A following a seven-game winning streak.
Dan and Ryan Friedkin, the club’s owners, praised De Rossi’s “positive impact”.
“After meeting with Daniele De Rossi we are delighted to announce he will continue as head coach of AS Roma after this season and for the foreseeable future,” a statement from the club said.
“Daniele is a respected and brave leader whose tenacity and steadfast faith in the team are a perfect fit with Roma’s principles, the city, and unmatched.
Under De Rossi’s leadership, Roma has also advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals; they lead their home match against AC Milan 1-0 going into Thursday’s second leg.
Between 2001 and 2019, De Rossi made 616 appearances for Roma and won two Coppa Italias.
