Tyler Robinson, the man suspected of shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk dead at Utah Valley University (UVU) last week, will be executed, according to Utah authorities.
On Tuesday, prosecutors formally filed charges, outlining the seriousness of the case.
During a press conference, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray stated that he has submitted a notice of intent to pursue Robinson’s execution.
“As county attorney, I have made this decision independently based only on the facts and circumstances of the crime, and I do not take it lightly,” Gray stated.
Robinson will remain detained without bond at the Utah County Jail as a result of the death penalty ruling.
