After India released water, more than 327,000 cubic feet of water per second reached Ganda Singh Wala, causing major flooding in the Sutlej River.
Water levels in Sulemanki have risen to 140,000 cubic feet per second, flooding streams in four Bahawalpur tehsils and surrounding districts.
Levels at Head Islam were 102,000 cubic feet per second, and there was a breach reported close to Fato Wali. Riverbank communities in Bahawalnagar have been flooded, and a breach in the Rango Canal has impacted many areas.
Additionally, other villages have been inundated due to rising water levels near Mailsi Head Siphon. Sadly, standing crops were damaged in Hasilpur, and one individual drowned in Arifwala.
