Professor Dr Saima Saleem of Karachi University has been named Woman of the Year 2024 by the Russian House in Pakistan for her “exceptional contributions to the field of biological sciences”.
Dr. Saleem is affiliated with the University of Karachi’s Dr. AQ Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering and is the secretary of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World – Pakistan National Chapter.
The Russian Center for Science and Culture, also known as Friendship House, was founded by the Russian government to facilitate cultural interaction and collaboration between Russia and Pakistan.
Dr. Saleem has been honored for her unrelenting commitment to empowering women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
