Outrage and a renewed discussion about India’s dedication to the spirit of cricket have been sparked by the Indian cricket team’s unwillingness to shake hands with Pakistani players during Sunday’s Asia Cup 2025 match.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), denounced the occurrence as a flagrant affront. Naqvi claimed on X that such conduct degrades the gentleman’s game.
It’s really disheartening to see how little sportsmanship there was tonight. It is contrary to the essence of sports to bring politics into the game. Let’s hope that all teams would gracefully celebrate any future triumphs,” Naqvi wrote.
