Iran’s official news agency said that President Masoud Pezeshkian informed the prime minister that a severe response to “an aggressor is a right of nations and a solution for stopping crimes and aggression.”.
The report also stated that Mr. Pezeshkian, who took office at the end of July, called the West’s quiet over the “unprecedented inhumane crime” in Gaza and Israeli attacks elsewhere in the Middle East “irresponsible” and that it encouraged Israel to jeopardize regional and international security.
The two leaders’ 30-minute phone chat on Monday night came after the UK released a joint statement.
The US has ordered the deployment of a guided missile submarine to the Middle East because to growing concerns that Iran will retaliate against Israel for the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in the nation.
