Dwayne Johnson has been talking candidly about his most impactful role to date.
The 53-year-old actor acknowledged on The Graham Norton Show that playing former MMA fighter Mark Kerr in The Smashing Machine had “changed his life.”
It is important to note that the film, which is scheduled for release on October 3, follows the tumultuous life of 56-year-old Mark Kerr, a former amateur wrestler and mixed martial arts competitor.
Johnson co-stars with 42-year-old Emily Blunt as Kerr’s ex-wife, Dawn Staples, an Arizonan recovering alcoholic who wed Kerr in Las Vegas.
According to Dwayne, the role is “the role of a lifetime.”
He continued by admitting that in order to completely embody Kerr, he had to “rip himself open.”
