The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) delivered its reserved decision and rejected Nawaz Sharif’s bid to challenge the NA-15 verdict.
“The petitioner may approach the Election Tribunal,” the ruling read.
The ECP directed the Returning Officer RO to finalize the results in three days.
Sindh Nisar Durrani, a member of the Election Commission of Pakistan, wrote the decision.
Nawaz Sharif’s counsel called the poll “unconstitutional, illegal, and contrary to election rules.”
Shahzada Gustasap Khan, an independent candidate supported by the PTI, won the seat with 105,249 votes, while Nawaz Sharif received 382 votes.
The province contributed 45 seats to the National Assembly, with ten reserved for women.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there were 21,928,119 registered voters, with 11,944,397 male and 9,983,722 female voters. PTI gained majority seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly pur out of total of 115 general seats. There are 26 reserved for women and four earmarked for non-Muslims.
